New giant on the block...

At some £1.300.00 and over nine feet high (2.6 mtrs), unfortunately I have neither the money nor space for this 1:50th scale crane model... x9x Everything on the real crane is designed so that it will break down and fit into around 135 standard 40' containers to enable transportation by road and se...

Re: Manitowoc / Grove GMK 5115:

As I said in the write up, I agree that the moulding residue in the tyre treads does look good and is also fairly prototypical but the "purist" collectors are up in arms over it, go figure! Now I'm trying to save up for the BIG luffing jib extension set for the LTM 1200 tonne crane x2x ... Cheers, ...

Manitowoc / Grove GMK 5115:

A recent addition to the fold, this rather nice rendition of a Grove 115 (US Ton) mobile crane is £ for lb the most expensive crane I have in my collection to date. Manufactured by Sword T.W.H. Collectibles, one of the two "Rolls Royce" companies of the die-cast construction model world, the other ...

Getting Busy In The Crane Yard!

Things are hotting up in "Coleman's" Crane Hire Yard. They are busy getting ready for a public open day. The yard measures out to a scale 334' X 116' at 1:50th and lives at one end of my bedroom! It is not quite finished as I want to add some tasteful moulding along the edge of it and saw off the a...

Warning: Pornographic Content!

Here are a few gratuitous photos for all you "closet" crane fanciers out there... This series logs the build-up of the Liebherr LTM 11200_9.1 crane: I hope that it is sort of self explanatory... http://www.pete-coleman.com/cranes/ltm01.jpg http://www.pete-coleman.com/cranes/ltm02.jpg http://www.pet...
