What the hell happened!

Post by Pete Coleman » Thu Feb 23, 2012 4:19 pm

So, yesterday I went shopping for a model of a van that I had seen in "Modelzone" in Crawley at around £6.00.
My idea was that I would convert it into an escort vehicle complete with digital signboards to accompany the
crane and heavy trailer loads whilst out on the road.
Well I found the van only to discover that it was 1:43rd scale and not 1:50th, bother!
So I was about to leave disappointed when my eyes fell upon the following model of an Komatsu PC1100 material handler.
Although I was not going to get into the digging side of the hobby, at the price it was and the impressive size of the model,
It was an offer I couldn't refuse!
So now I am the proud owner of this bulky machine which at the scale of 1:50th, fits in with all my mobile crane gear...
The actual unit price was £24.99 and although it is streets away in terms of detail and fidelity when compared to the likes of
NZG, TWH, YCC & WSI, I think it is great value for such a "solid" looking model which makes quite an impressive display piece.

I have just finished doing some online interviews via a Chinese employment agency.
They managed to find me six European construction crew members who where currently "between jobs".
I have taken them all on and by the time they get their visas and stuff organized they should arrive in the UK within 24 days.
They where a lot cheaper to hire via China than through a British agency! x4x

There also should be a rather nice addition to the heavy lifting department arriving early next week x6x ...
Cheers, and thanks for looking.
Pete.
Best regards, Pete. (A.O.T.F.) :character-spongebobdance:
